I started my career as a medical assistant/phlebotomist for a number of years, specializing in ear lavages, venipunctures, Chain of command drug testing, data entry and customer service. I worked at various call centers, Jackson Hewitt; front office duties including, printing and check disbursement scheduling appointments answering multi-function phone lines and customer conflicts. Georgia dept. of Family and Child services is where I enrolled and maintained files for members receiving food stamp and Georgia Medicaid.
I used all my lived experiences and became a CARES. In the past few years, I have assisted peers with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), performing scheduled and random drug screening as well as supporting members transitioning in various stages of their new lives.
