Luiz Matias

Hi! My name is Luiz Matias. I’m a Brazilian-American and I’ve been a Camera Operator/DOP for the last 7+ years having directed, shot, and edited over 100+ videos/projects for brands, directors, film artists, influencers, podcaster, weddings and musicians.

With over seven years of hands-on experience in Filmmaking, I have developed extensive skills in camera settings, lenses, lighting and many others technical aspects of filming.

While I haven’t pursued a traditional Filmmaking college path, I’ve gained extensive knowledge through practical experience, industry certifications, and working alongside experienced professionals.

Completed three years of college toward a Advertising and Propaganda degree at Faculdade Maurício de Nassau (Brazil) and a course of Creative Direction at ExpoLAB, before relocating to Los Angeles to launch my own film production business. Through this venture, I gained valuable experience in project management, client relations, budgeting and marketing, successfully managing productions from concept to completion.
