I've recently moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico from Vancouver, Canada and obtained my green card allowing me to continue my career as a carpenter. I've been working in the industry for 7 years with varying types of work. Prior to that, I worked in the maritime industry and as a professional bartender. I have great people skills and able to work with all types of personalities.
I have a wide range of experience ranging from film sets to commercial construction as well as hospital work during the pandemic.
My Occupational Level 3 First Aid experience on film sets gave me the utmost respect for safety protocols and awareness for dangerous environments. While my first aid certificate has expired, I’m always ready and willing to continue any education that will be helpful to the job site. During my time working in film, I obtained experience with various shop tools, as well as frequently operating man lifts, forklifts and scissor lifts for set construction and demolition.
Commercially, I’ve worked on brewery/restaurants as well as car dealership projects where I gained much of my experience with concrete forms, framing, door and window installation, layout, stairs and rails, as well as heritage home restoration.
My hospital experience focused on building partition walls and creating negative air pressure environments to contain infection. My attention to detail and willingness to work in high pressure environments made me a preferred employee for this type of work.
