Madeleine Kunkle graduated with a BA in Art from UCLA in 2016. She is the founder and creative director of the brand Hollywood Gifts, carried by SSENSE, Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and Café Forgot, and featured in Interview Magazine, Document Journal, and The Guardian. She also works as a consultant and designer to other fashion labels, a consultant and assistant to contemporary artists, a copywriter to brands, and a grant writer to artists and non-profit organizations.
Madeleine Kunkle built the brand Hollywood Gifts out of an art practice that became a full-fledged brand featured in magazines and beloved by stylists and celebrities. She did so using her command for copywriting, brand-building, and storytelling on social media. Since graduating from UCLA with a BA in Art in 2016, Kunkle has worked as a consultant and assistant contemporary artists like Jon Rafman, Nikita Gale, Ravi Jackson, Liz Glynn, Anthony Pearson, and Jennifer Bolande.
Before starting her brand, Kunkle worked in fashion as a stylist, first assisting Harper Slate, Jill Jacobs, and Annie & Hannah, before going out on her own. She has styled, designed, and/or consulted for brands like Online Ceramics, Enfants Riches Déprimés, OGBFF, and Siberia Hills. Kunkle is also a writer – both of fiction – and of grants and proposals for artists and non-profit organizations like AFI, JANM, The Hear Now Music Festival, St.
Vincent de Paul Society of Los Angeles, and others. The breadth of her experience in creative fields allows her to adapt to any situation with self-starting acuity and strong intuition.
