I started making short videos when I was a teenager, and been gaining knowledge in the field ever since I was 14 years old. I have visualization techniques that are best utilized through my communication skills. Working as an editor and freelance journalist has given the ability to use different methods of divergent and convergent thinking.
I’ve worked with producers and other editors at WSOC-TV to effectively create sequences that accurately portray the story. I also use my experience and helpful advice given to me by my colleagues and network affiliates to produce personal and professional content for my work and other organizations.
I sequence voiceovers, sound-over-tapes, and packages for the top morning show in Charlott, NC. Trained by and work with Emmy award winning editors to create content that more vividly depicts the setting of an occurrence. Often spend my free time shadowing reporters, producers or other editors. Through them, I’ve obtained new techniques on how to tell a visual story, learned the basics of different positions, and gained opportunities to further improve and project my knowledge.
I have a bachelor’s degree in media studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Learned how to edit using Adobe Premiere Pro, and the basics of SLR photography using a Sony a6500 from courses I took and clubs I became involved in. Worked alongside other editors and photographers to help create high quality content.
