My name is Madison Potter and I am passionate about chairs. I received my BS in Interior Design with a minor in Enviornmental Sustainability from the CIDA accredited college, Meredith College. With a major in Interior Design I am extremely passionate about making spaces comfortable for people whether that be a residential or commercial setting. With a minor in environmental sustainability, the incorporation of environmentally conscious products in interiors is extremely important to me. Regarding future goals, I hope that in the next five years I am both NCIDQ and LEED certified. Following an internship at Alfred Williams and Company, a dealership that worked primarily with Herman Miller products, I became passionate about the function and form that chairs add to all interiors and became a major fan of both the Eames designs and their design philosophy. As far as skills go I am proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and have working knowledge of Revit. I am also extreamly comfortable creating spaceplans and FF&E selections. Additionally I am familiar with the Adobe Suite. I am currently looking for an interior design role and would be beyond excited to join your team!
During my undergraduate experience I worked as an Interior Design Intern at Alfred Williams and Company. this allowed me to gain a better understanding of the commercial industry. I assisted with cleaning up floor plans in AutoCAD and creating validation documents for customers. Additionally I became experienced in materials selection and organization.
During my time at Meredith College I became proficient in SketchUp and AutoCAD and I gained working knowledge of both V-Ray and Revit. Here I also had the opportunity to study abroad to Italy for an Italian Design Studio. This experience allowed me to gain a unique perspective of Italian design and allowed me to better understand the commonalities of design on a global scale.
