Maria Paz

Maria is a Designer with seven years of experience based in Seattle, WA. She is inspired by her Mexican roots and the beauty of the PNW. She loves virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, user experience design, and anything that involves a good narrative!

I'm a UX/UI Designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and a second bachelor's degree in Interactive Media. Cumulatively, I have seven years of professional experience solving design problems and project management.

My background in graphic design complements my passion for technology and makes me a great candidate for this job opportunity. For the last two and a half years, I've worked at BB Design and Photography as a Graphic Designer. While there, I worked on various projects, focusing mainly on website design and UI. I've been a part of the design process for over ten websites. My time at BB Design and Photography has been invaluable as it has honed my design skills and kept me well-practiced.

Although I have six years of experience in professional web design and web-related user experiences, my most direct and unique experience with user experience and user interfaces was at Novo Nordisk as a Student co-op UX/UI Designer. I was the only UX/UI Designer on a Data Scientists and Engineers team. As a team, we created the very early stages of Software for Medical Devices and Medical Science to treat Diabetes better.

With Novo

Nordisk, I've had the great opportunity of designing user experiences and interfaces for early software renditions. I've also provided front-end coding for them in python, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I was fortunate enough to work on four separate web applications. While I am happy to give general descriptions of my accomplishments, I am under NDA concerning discussing my work at Novo Nordisk and need to go into more detail.
