I/E and Analyzer technician at Air Liquide (2025-06 – 2026-04)
Each day is full of break-in work orders on all types of instrumentation, electrical, and analyzers.
- During routine maintenance, duties revolve around eight CEMS monitoring a large amount of water analyzers including pH, conductivity, dissolved O2, TOC, Silica, and turbidity
- O2 analyzers in ppm levels
- Total Hydrocarbon and two old ABB G.C.'S which I helped get back online and pass validation
- The GC's are looking for trace components of poisons for the final product
- The DCS systems are Delta V and Wonderware
- My limit on electrical is 480 V and below
Analyzer Specialist at INEOS (2024-09 – 2025-04)
- Performing routine maintenance for the acetic acid unit utilizing Maxum II G.C.'s for the process control
- ABB trace moisture analyzers, Ametek for heater combustion, Thermo environmental analyzers for the CEMS with Vivicom DAS
- Multiple manufacturers for the local vapor detection systems including MSA, Sierra, RC, and Scott
- CEMS and verified daily and inspected for SCS issues and resolved in a timely manner
- Assisting in training other technicians on analytical and instrumentation as needed
Analyzer Specialist at Next Wave (2024-01 – 2024-08)
Facility produces high-octane fuel through the alkylation process.
- There are 22 ABB PGC5000 GC controlling the process
- These analyzers have both liquid inject and gas
- Each SCS utilizes swirl clean filters and 7-micron last defense filters
- Multiple other analyzers within this process including water analyzers TOC, Silica, pH, Conductivity, and Sodium
- There is one CEMS utilizing ABB URAS and Magnos
- As a specialist, it was my duty to order bottles, open work orders and record history, close WO
- Create work requests and material requests
- Responsible for every analyzer in the plant including Yokogawa BTU, Ametek moisture, and acid strength analyzers
Project Manager at Smith Analytical (2023-04 – 2024-01)
Traveled to Memphis Valero where I stayed for three months doing all instrumentation work.
- Previously, a large amount of my duties were to write SOPs for customers and test them in the field before validating them as working SOP's
- Performed multiple training classes for plant customers on site and at the Smith facility
- Project managed work for multiple facilities with new construction needs, reapplications, and performing maintenance needs when called to do so
I&A Specialist at Contech (2021-06 – 2023-04)
- Bringing online a series of Yokogawa Mark 1000 analyzers along with some early version of Siemens Maxum II analyzers which were dormant for a long period of time
- While maintaining the running analyzers for the amines process which include but are not limited to ABB trace moisture analyzers and Galvanic color
- A large percentage of the work involves CEMS water analyzers including Mettler Toledo pH, Hach TOC, and Metrohm NH3 analyzers
I&A Technician at RUS Industrial (2020-05 – 2021-06)
Exxon BTEC unit is the R and D facility where I was involved in maintaining Maxum II's on 7 operating units, making multiple types of plastic utilizing many different methods such as gas phase reactors and liquid emulsion.
- Assisted in instrument PM's and break ins for flow, level, temp and pressure as needed
- Initiated the Dorado project with the objective of producing a chemical compound that has not previously been synthesized on a large-scale online unit
- Dorado has 14 Maxum II's with ramping ovens and liquid injects and measuring 23 peaks
- Assisted with the other analyzers within the unit but mainly concentrated on the G.C.'s with hour long cycles
Project Manager at JDC (2018-02 – 2020-05)
- Involved in every aspect of ongoing projects and performing job walks for upcoming projects
- Installing multiple types of analyzers along with performing the FAT
- Assist other instrument technicians at multiple sites with ongoing issues and help resolve all
- Perform training classes for upcoming analyzer technicians
- Currently designing sample systems for difficult applications
- Recruiting technicians for maintenance positions all along the Houston Ship Channel, Mont Belvieu and Freeport
Analyzer Specialist at Chevron Phillips (2014-03 – 2018-02)
- Overseeing all analyzer tech training and all projects for the complex including upgrading each unit with Advance Maxum II analyzers in place of the current Advance Optichrom
- This includes replacing the steam trace bundles with electric temperature controllers and smart sample systems with smart sample probes
- These systems require a NAU to talk to the new DCS Delta V
- Upgrading total hydrocarbon analyzers for the catalyst activation unit, new Servomex LEL analyzers monitoring fluff, residual Cl controlling analyzers for each cooling tower and multiple small projects
- Performing routine maintenance in three polyethylene units
- Training CPCHEM technicians on Maxum II analyzers utilizing GCP while identifying and resolving analyzer and sample system issues
- Initiating projects for new sample points for the C6 splitter and DeEthanizer columns to help operations advance process control
- All HRVOC analyzers are Yokogawa and resolved all sample systems and analyzer issues
