Masters student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling entering the counseling field with 10 years of experience in child and family care.
I have been in childcare in various capacities for over a decade. I’ve worked with many families as a nanny, and different schools as an assistant and finally lead teacher. I’ve supervised and trained individuals, using best practices as my guide to ensure the best care possible for the children entrusted into my care.
My work caring for children and collaborating with parents has strengthened my patience, ability to communicate, resolve conflict, ability to stay present, and has taught me immensely about the change process. In my experience as a nanny, this has meant maintaining positive relationships with families for several years, communicating effectively via email and in person, remaining organized yet flexible, and learning to de-escalate conflict. In my experience teaching, I have completed and communicated progress reports, maintained the safety and well-being of a classroom of 10+ toddlers while training an assistant, and used personal time to research developmental best practices for children up to age four.
Though the bulk of my experience has been with young children, I have every confidence in my ability to work with adults on their goals. I am a capable, compassionate, and highly functioning individual who feels passionate about caring for others. I’m interested in working with women, especially those who struggle with self-esteem, traumatic experiences, depression, or anxiety.
I deeply desire to partner with clients on their journey towards a more actualized self.
I am currently in my final year of a master's program at Pennsylvania Western in Clinical Mental Counseling.
