As an EeMR III Assistant, I have a variety of roles/workflows that I achieve. My current role as an EeMR III Assistant is indexing patient records via OnBase/Epic systems as well as assisting with chart corrections, ensuring forensic analysis for resolution of chart errors. Other roles/workflows I have previously done as staffing needs were fulfilled; I also assumed the role of a medical records analyst, working the Labor & Delivery work queue.

I analyzed labor and delivery as well as newborn patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance of these records that are assigned in the deficiency queues. Also, as an EMR III assistant, I had the workflow of an eMPI specialist, researching chart merges, duplicates and overlays. Also served as an Epic Super-User with the implementation of Epic.

Previously and prior to obtaining the Epic system, I was a DNFC specialist, working the coding queues daily by following up on missing documentation and communicating with the coding team as well as physicians and staff in retrieving the missing documentation as well as requesting coding queries by communicating with physicians and healthcare staff and ultimately reaching weekly goals of hospital revenue. Also worked as an ROI specialist. Healthcare software experience consists of Allscripts, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Athena, PowerChart/Legacy as well as Epic (HIM currently and previously Epic Beaker modules).

Employed as a medical records clerk II on 2nd shift at Emory University Hospital, Health Information Management department. I prepped, scanned and indexed patient records, entering information into the computer as well as retrieved patient records on all inpatient care areas. Also responsible for answering calls and greeting customers regarding patient records.
