I believe a college education should be structured to provide students with the tools necessary to gain expertise in their chosen field, grow as an individual, and contribute to their community. Therefore, I strive to help students refine their capacity for clear and critical thinking while imparting knowledge of scientific principles and skills. Teaching is a joy for me and I often walk back to my office after class feeling fortunate that I am paid to interact with interested, intelligent students and “teach” them about why I love science.
It may sound corny, but teaching is truly a privilege.
