- Collaborated closely with the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to complete conservation and trail maintenance projects.
- Managed logistics of 4-8 person crews, maintained worksite safety, and ensured project milestones were met in accordance with agency standards.
- Mentored inexperienced sawyers in the safe felling of hazard trees, demolition of unsafe structures, clearing of fuels to reduce wildfire risk, and removal of invasive species.
- Provided technical instruction to crew members in drilling and splitting stone.
- Provided technical instruction to crew in moving large boulders safely.
- Instructed crew members in masonry techniques, constructing single and multi-tiered retaining walls, armored tread, and check steps.

- Trained and guided crew members in the safe and proper use of trail tools as well as masonry tools, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Conducted trail maintenance and built stone walls while improving trail sustainability.
- Supported recreational access while preserving natural resources in accordance with federal and local standards by maintaining tread, brushing corridors, and repairing drainage structures.
- The majority of this position was spent on trail building stone structures.

- Hiked extended distances over rugged terrain, carrying supplies and tools for 4-8 day field deployments to complete projects in remote areas.
- Gained experience in dry stone masonry, invasive species identification, herbicide application, and safe removal of hazard trees using chainsaws.
- The majority of this position was dry stone masonry and rigging. Became comfortable locating anchor spots in rugged terrain and using a hoist to its maximum potential Safely.
