Passionate Group Fitness Instructor and Undergraduate Student obtaining her degree in Exercise Science/ Kinesiology. Specializes in Power and Gentle Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Barre classes. Certifications include 200 hr RYT and AFAA Group Fitness.
I have worked in fitness studios since 2020. I began my experience in Group Fitness by teaching children's dance classes at Lanti Performing Arts. In 2021 I began a secretary position at Okra Yoga which launched me into my love of Yoga.
I obtained my 200 hr Yoga Teaching Certification at Sacred Healing Paths Yoga in 2022, and began to teach freelance classes until I got a job at UNC Charlotte's UREC in 2023. Over the summer of 2023, I obtained my AFAA Group Fitness Instructor Certification. With my certification, I am equipped to teach a wide range of classes like Indoor Cycling, Cardio Dance classes and Strength training as well.
On top of my certifications in Group Fitness, I am also obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. In my degree, I have taken course work like Anatomy and Physiology for the Health Professions and Exercise Physiology which have taught me how the human body works, moves and functions and how exercise affects us at a chemical level. I have also taken courses like Introduction to Strength training which teaches you how to design functional exercise programs.
