My name is Megan Gaare and I am from Wetumpka, Alabama. I am currently a senior at the University of Mississippi majoring in English with minors in both Creative Writing and German. I serve as the treasurer of the German Club and am an active member of the Hillel Organization.
My passion for writing, reading, and traveling has shaped my aspirations for a career in editing and publishing. I currently contribute as a poetry editor for the Landshark Literary Review and have gained editorial experience through my work with online magazines, including Gazette Gal, in addition to interning as a Personnel Development Intern in Nürtingen, Germany to further diversify my experiences and writings.
I have gained valuable professional experience through roles that emphasize writing, editing, and collaboration. As an editorial intern at Gazette Gal, I created weekly articles, honing my ability to write engaging, audience-focused content. Serving as a poetry editor for Landshark Literary Review, I refined my skills in critiquing creative works, collaborating with writers, and managing deadlines.
Additionally, as a Personnel Development Intern at Heller in Germany, I supported workplace initiatives while immersing myself in a cross-cultural professional environment.
As an English major at the University of Mississippi with minors in Creative Writing and German, I’ve developed a strong foundation in analyzing, crafting, and editing diverse forms of writing. My studies have enhanced my storytelling abilities, deepened my understanding of language and culture, and sharpened my attention to detail. These skills, in turn, have prepared me to create engaging, polished content while adapting to varied audiences and contexts.
