My name is Megan McDaniel. I am 20 years old, originally from Indiana but I have lived in Arkansas for 10+ years. I was very active in my church‘s youth group my entire middle/high school years. This brought forth many opportunities to serve and volunteer within my community, and even out of state, on mission trips.
This plays a great role in my work ethic and who I am as a person today. I was also a boys basketball manager at Huntsville High School through all of those years as well, and a member of the Art Club. I graduated in May of 2022 and decided not to further my education as of right now.
I recently relocated from the Fayetteville (Northwest Arkansas) area, and I am looking forward to starting a new future in this new area.
My very first job was for Madison Motel in Huntsville, where my only job was housekeeping and laundry. It was a great way for me to step my foot into the employment world, as I was freshly 16 at the time. I then worked at Sonic Drive-In of Huntsville, AR for roughly 2 years, until it was time for me to graduate high school.
Here, I was in charge of handling money, taking customer food orders, preparing drinks and food, serving customers, and working in a very fast paced environment. From there I went on to McAlister Vision Clinic, of Huntsville. As an Optometric Technician, my roles were as follows: Enter demographics into computer, run insurance cards, complete pre-exam tests such as retinal images, acuities and more, give eyedrops, answer phone calls to better assist patients, and keep up with their medical history in organized files.
While at McAlister Vision Clinic, I was also volunteering for a local thrift shop, Paws and Claws Thrift Cottage. All proceeds from this thrift shop, aside from paying necessary bills, go towards a local no-kill pet shelter. I volunteered to run the cash register and help stock items every Friday morning from 10am-4pm, as the eye clinic was closed on Friday’s .
Both ended once I moved further south, summer of 2023.
I graduated from Huntsville High School in May of 2022, and I have decided not to further my education at this time. However, I am open to doing so if an opportunity arises.
