Merry Mawi

I am 17 years old and attend Franklin Central High School. I am currently a junior but will be a senior as of the 2026-2027 school year. I have made honor roll since the beginning of my high school career and have been involved in show choir as well.

Volunteer at Midwest Food Bank (Present)

I volunteer at a food drive and bag food for over 1,000 people in need with my show choir every year. I spent long hours working and put on a show for the community afterwards.

Show Choir Member at FC Singers (2024 – Present)

I am a 2 year member of FC Singers and a previous 1 year member of Encores. I have dedicated large amount of time of time to performing arts and learned valuable skills such as time management and self accountability along the way.

Babysitter at Private (2025-06 – Present)

I started babysitting 3 kids (ages 9, 4, & 3) in the summer of 2025. Two of these children require special care due to their physical condition. I have spent both late nights and early mornings watching the kids and making sure they are all safe and entertained. I have also been available for parents to contact last minute to watch the kids later that day. This experience has taught me the importance of attentiveness and patience in high stress environments.

Tutor at Private (2026-02 – Present)

I began tutoring two students (both in 7th grade) in February of 2026 for 4 days out of the week. I make sure to keep the students focused and productive while maintaining a stress free environment. This has taught me how to tackle problems in an efficient and timely manner. I have also learned the significance of prioritizing tasks in order of importance. I am flexible with hours and make sure to communicate with parents if something were to come up or if they had to reschedule.
