I have been a meat cutter for five years. Prior to that, I have performed various skilled jobs including, lead maintenance, carpentry, masonry, commercial and domestic building and repair, HVAC, welding, and roofing among others. As I have aged, I find meat cutting to be a skill which I have mastered and genuinely enjoy.
On a more personal note, My wife and I recently moved to the area (3 months ago) from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and we are currently enjoying learning more about the Green Bay area and its history. My wife and I have four grown children and six beautiful grandchildren of varying ages. On my personal time I enjoy spending time with my family as well as my Border collie dog and Maine coon mix cat. I also enjoy assembling model ships, small woodworking projects, and following sports.
Cut and carve various types of meat. Grind meat for a variety of purposes, Wrapping and packaging meat for placement on sales floor. Managing stock in the meat department in the kitchen and on sales floor to assure quality and quantity was up to standards. Placing and receiving orders for required meats to coincide with special orders and upcoming sales advertising. Unloading orders, stocking, cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, kitchen, and sales floor area as it pertains to meat handling. Customer service.
My education as it relates to meat cutting is based solely on hands-on experience and on the job training. Every meat department has different procedures, codes, and pricing, however the method for cutting meat to provide the highest quality for consumers remains steady regardless of where I work.
