I started working like a lot of people in their childhood, mowing lawns. When I came of age to get hired legally, I joined the Dollar General team as a stocker and cashier dedicated to serving others. I then got accepted into an Aerospace Manufacturing and Repair program through Triumph and was a paid apprentice until I was laid off due to company financial issues.
That is when I joined the Army and experienced the responsibilities and duties of a soldier that was in my field. I was a 31(E) Detention/ Correctional Specialist, the unit Armorer, and FMTV driver. I now attend college at National Park College, seeking a degree in Computer Science.
I have spent the last eight years building up skills and responsibilities for the purpose of learning problem-solving skills under stress while keeping a cool-headed composure and state of mind. I can quickly assess a situation and understand what needs to be done or where to acquire the information for its completion. I have proven so by my leadership of my team of five, completing multiple tasks and drill events on a normal occurrence.
I have scheduled and led training events teaching 65 individuals the proficiency skills they need to accomplish a mission of their own. I have maintained an Arms Room of equipment that remained mission ready at any moment’s notice. I am confident that I will be a valuable addition to your company.
I am still getting my Associate's Degree and all general education for it while attending National Park College. I plan on staying at National Park College while seeking a Bachelor's Degree as well through a stem program they have.
