Music Director and Head of Michigan Music Conservatory (1999-2023)
Head harp and strings teacher.
Suzuki method (Japanese) as well as United States and European methods, theory and performance to students ages 4-94. Teaching includes classes of students up to 25 in attendance in-person, online and also private tutoring. In this position, I coordinate recitals, work with other music schools for both teacher and student collaboration and fundraising. Three years recent experience of community outreach, working with our local businesses and schools to incorporate the benefits of music for all ages and integrate them into the everyday experience of our citizens and neighbors. Examples include student performances in the 4th of July Parade, the Christmas recital at the local flower nursery and collaborative Halloween recital between two local music studios and schools. Writing and teaching online programs to help children continue their music education during Covid.
Published Music Composer (2009-2023)
Composed and published harp method books for children. “The Harp and the Storm Tamer,” is story based for preschool aged children. “How to Play Harp Like a Fairy,” is for children from ages 5-10. Composed and released the theme song for the Meant to Be Podcast, “A Dance with Mr. Darcy.” Harp albums include “Reinvention” 2010 and “Languid Sunday” (2014). Finalist for Best Classical Composer at the Detroit Music Awards 2009 and 2015.
