School Counselor with Experience in ABA Therapy

My name is Morgan Larsen I am a recent graduate of John Carroll university in Cleveland Ohio. In January 2023, I completed my masters program and counseling psychology and began working as a school counselor. Prior to graduating, I spent over three years working at Total Education Solutions in Fairlawn, Ohio as a RBT, and a special education classroom assistant.
I plan on moving to Morgantown in June 2023. My hope is to pursue a PhD in psychology at the University of West Virginia, beginning in late 2024. I am seeking employment beginning in June of this year.
I love the time I spent growing and learning working in the field of applied behavioral analysis and would love an opportunity to work in that field again. I have worked with clients aged from three years old to 22 years old with a number of mental health and behavioral health diagnoses. I have worked with mild to moderate, as well as moderate to severe.
I am trained in CPI and first aid/CPR. I have a passion for improving the lives of my clients and their families, and would love to continue to do that in West Virginia. I have a valid RBT certification through the BCAB.
In my experience, I have worked with students using a number of applied behavioral analysis techniques, including, but not limited to self monitoring and self-regulation, different schedules of reinforcement, token economy reinforcement, functional communication training, and noncontingent reinforcement.
In 2019 I began working as a registered behavior technician at Total Education Solutions in Fairlawn, Ohio. I worked in both the clinic setting as well as in-home settings. I worked with students all over the spectrum with a number of additional diagnoses.
I’ve worked with students that were nonverbal and used ASL, as well as AAC devices. The majority of the clients I worked with were on the moderate to severe end of the spectrum. Have utilized a number of ABA techniques in my behavior therapy, including but not limited to token economy’s, schedules of reinforcement, behavior monitoring, self regulation, and functionat communication training. in my experience, I have worked with client on academic-based goals as well as Social-based goals.
In many of my in-home therapy sessions, I worked with clients on self-care and life skills. I have also worked with clients and community-based settings, such as doing outings with their families or in group homes. After two years of working at Total Education Solutions, I began working in an additional role as a special education classroom aide.
I completed my bachelors of arts in psychology at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio in 2019. In January 2023, I received my masters in counseling psychology from John Carroll university in Cleveland, Ohio. I have also completed the 40 hours online training that is required in order to obtain my RBT. While working as RBT at Total Education Solutions, I received ongoing training in relevant areas, such as CPI, CPR and first aid, medication administration, HIPAA compliance, and DEI trainings.
