I have over 30 years of experience as a nurse and I have functioned at various levels and fulfilled many roles as a bed side nurse (Nurse II), a nurse manger (Nurse III) and a nurse executive (Nurse IV). I have dealt with multiple issues, related to nursing practice, quality care, Joint Commission (JC) standards, occupational safety, staffing, supplies, conduct/ performance etc. I collaborated with members of the interdisciplinary team in providing health care services to Veteran patients across the continuum of care, including non -hospital/ non-institutional settings.
I also provided support in planning, implementing, educating, modifying, and evaluating the effectiveness of program services to improve the quality of patient care in in patient, out- patient and community care program services. I have provided oversight and support in analyzing, interpreting, gathering, and reporting data to ensure compliance with quality standards. I have implemented several Quality Improvement projects at the unit and care line level such as pressure ulcer prevention, fall prevention, hospital acquired infections etc.
I have always been instrumental in addressing opportunities for improving health care delivery to patients at many levels within and outside the medical center.
