After one year as a Residential Counselor I moved up to the bigger leadership position as a Head Resident Counselor (HRC). As a Head Residential Counselor, I played a crucial role responsible for the operational management and supervision of residential life during the Barnard College pre-college program. As an HRC I not only acted as a mentor for the middle school and high school students attending, as I did in my previous position, but as HRC I was also responsible for the resident counselors under me.

Music/Play Teacher & Reception - Gymboree Play & Music DC

At Gymboree my position included not only leading the children (0-5yrs) in activities, but I also had the responsibility of working the front desk. My key responsibilities whilst working the front desk was to greet guests, help them with scheduling their children for classes and birthday parties, inform first time customers of how Gymboree works, take attendance, and work the retail side of Gymboree when customers wanted to purchase anything in our store. As a Play Teacher, I led themed classes with the children and their caretakers.
All classes consisted of singing for the children. The activities I led helped build key developmental skills such as problem solving, cognitive skills, motor skills, and more as they played in our indoor playground guided by my lessons. In addition, every month I would assist in rebuilding the playground in new ways to keep our play place fresh and exciting for our regular customers.
Residential Counselor - Summer Discovery Pre-College Program at Barnard

As a mentor and chaperone for middle and high school students in the Summer Discovery Program, I supported students in their academic and personal development while navigating college preparation. My key responsibilities included supervising students during scheduled activities, guiding them through excursions in New York City, and ensuring their safety through regular room checks. Additionally, I provided mentorship by sharing advice and insights on the college experience, fostering a supportive environment for students to explore their academic and career goals.
I was also flexible in adapting to schedule changes, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.

My responsibility is to perform my designated songs and activities, keep track of the minute-by-minute schedule so our show doesn't run behind, and enthusiastically engage with the children and other guests of all ages.

My responsibilities included mentoring adult participants with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities(IDD) including autism, during ArtStream drama skills classes, Social Club meetings, or Super Social Saturday workshops. Activities included improv, acting, singing and dancing. Art Stream classes are designed to teach communication, social, and teamwork skills through the arts.
I assisted with setting up and cleaning up and served as a positive role model by participating in activities with the students, encouraging participation and providing feedback to the caregivers/parents.

My responsibilities included leading activities with the students and participating in the teacher led activities to act as a role model to the students. In addition, I made sure the students stayed on task during activities.
