Class 1 Electronic Technician - UK Military - UK/Afghanistan

Employed as a Class 1 Electronic Technician, with numerous roles and responsibilities at a Second Line deployed Unit. Majority of the roles where geared around general maintenance and management.

• Managed the ECM department in planning, inspection, and testing of all ECM equipment. This also involved the management of a team of 4 junior class 2 personnel whom all required some training on the newer ECM kit.
• During deployment to Afghanistan. I was in charge of the ECM repair section, inspecting and repairing of almost 3000 various bits of ECM Kit. Worked to tight time constraints with a team of 5 personnel, of which I also administered in the field.
• Specific fault diagnosis, servicing, repair and on the job training to the FEPS 40Kw generating equipment during deployment to Afghanistan, enabling other technicians the ability to service and repair this equipment in their locations.
• Organized specific training for 20 personnel in order for successful equipment repair and deployment on operations in Afghanistan.

Junior Electronics Technician - UK Military - UK/Falklands

Employed as a Junior Electronics Technician as part of a repair team. Responsibilities included the Inspection, maintenance, modification, and repair of Bowman Radios including the serviceability of communication and electrical control systems within or mounted to the vehicles. All carried out to the highest Engineering Standards and documented both in the Workshop environment and whilst deployed from barracks conducting equipment care checks on vehicles deployed on exercise.

• Facilitated military requirements to enable maximum training value and continued support of major operations or military objectives.
• Attended Health & Safety training, military equipment training, computer skills courses and in house training.
• Carried out Initial and reviewed COSHH Risk Assessments for Repair Facility Workshops.

Junior Manager - UK Military - UK/Germany/Iraq/Poland/Canada

Employed within teams of up to 18 personnel, as a junior manager with requirement to step up to senior position as and when needed, Maintaining and supporting a large and diverse number of wheeled and tracked vehicles (c 100), using hands on repair techniques and following technical data reference book.

• Repaired faults for vehicles and Tanks with immediate notice to move, complex and technical repairs carried out with a need to fault find accurately to ensure expensive spare parts required, were correctly identified first time and mistakes kept to a minimum.
• Delivered support to various equipment's with little or no training on that specific equipment, therefore structured fault finding had to be done to ensure adequate repair of the equipment so it could safely continue its mission.
