I got my start in event planning as a young art student when my peers and I organized pop up art exhibitions all around our small college town in Denton, TX. As I went on to graduate school, I continued to contribute to and organize more robustly group and solo art exhibitions. Building relationships, securing venues, solving problems, organizing music and catering was all apart of the art exhibition event planning process.
What I've learned about my experience in event coordination is that it brings me a lot of joy and provides a great sense of pride for me. What I'm looking for is a company where I can apply my unique set of skills as an artist, entrepreneur, and teacher to further that company's mission and vision.
Experienced event coordinator with 10 years experience of art exhibition for solo and group events. Responsibilities included booking venues, managing budgets, catering, and working alongside other professionals toward an end goal. In addition, as President of the graduate Art club, I hosted visiting artist events twice per semester for three years. Volunteer work includes assisting with special events and programs for several organizations, including Farming and Art groups.
As an art student for both a bachelor's and master's I was steeped in art exhibition event coordination education and training. I have organized over 100 events that put my personal work as an artist on display to an audience. Having had this experiential education has been invaluable to me as I pivot from education to event coordination.
