Re: Chicago Hockey Videographer / Event Production Assignment
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am interested in the Chicago hockey videographer opportunity with FloSports. I bring more than 18 years of hands-on video production experience, including sports and basketball coverage, live events, interviews, documentary production and multi-camera field work.
My experience has required me to work independently in real production environments where preparation, dependable camera operation and strong visual judgment are essential. I am comfortable setting up and operating professional camera, lens, tripod, audio and lighting equipment, maintaining usable coverage throughout an event, and adapting to changing conditions in the field.
My independent production work has included Chicago-area basketball game and event coverage, interviews and highlight-oriented footage. In addition, my work as Official Videographer and Co-Editor for PLIM from 2008–2020 and as Visual Arts Director / Production Producer / Editor for Balozi Wazee / Shule Ya Watoto from 2017–2022 gave me extensive experience handling production from field capture through post-production.
Although my primary sports experience has been basketball rather than hockey, I understand the importance of maintaining consistent coverage of fast-moving live action and working within the production requirements of a live sports environment. I would bring a professional attitude, strong field-production discipline and a willingness to work as part of the FloSports production team.
I would appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the Chicago hockey assignment and demonstrate my ability in the field.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
One important strategic point: I deliberately did not write “experienced hockey videographer.” That would be an unnecessary exaggeration. Your strongest argument is: 18+ years of professional production + actual sports/basketball experience + long-lens/camera skills + independent live-event experience + ability to learn the hockey-specific coverage requirements quickly.
This is the version I would actually submit.
