I started my filmmaking journey as a Director/Producer while studying at UCLA Extension, graduating in 2018. In those days, I wouldn’t have a budget for an editor and so by default I edited my own films which taught me the art of film editing. In the last few years, I have turned towards editing full time and feel empowered by its sophistication, especially after learning all the keyboard shortcuts for Adobe Premiere Pro.
My introduction to video editing was when I edited my thesis narrative short film Sheela in 2018 followed by a short documentary The Feminine Movement I also produced the same year.
Currently, I am working as a Video Editor in the Entertainment department at Express Tribune in Karachi, Pakistan. I am also remotely working as a freelance Assistant Editor for Krystal Clear Media based in Orlando.
I have received a certificate in Directing at UCLA Extension and I also took summer film classes at University of Southern California included the class “The Art of Motion Picture Editing” taught by Nancy Forner (Editor of Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
