My role was to monitor patients on treatment for Eating disorder for safety and also prevent the from indulging in activities aimed at losing weight. I also observe them during meals, chat percentage of food and drinks they eat and supplement with nutritious shakes if they fail to eat up to their treatment goal. I also measure and chat vitals signs, including orthostatic blood pressure, weight and urine output.

I learned research process: selecting a topic to formulating research questions, establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria, conducting advanced database searches, collecting relevant data from various sources, reviewing and interpreting the data, and composing all sections of a research paper to convey our research process and findings. Additionally, references both electronically and manually, creating tables and figures, and writing the introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion sections. Working as a team, we collaborated and offered meaningful contributions to each other's papers.
This experience fostered a sense of teamwork among us.

The knowledge of Public Health has been an eye opener on ways to to practice wholistic/ integrative medicine but more especially, employing preventive measures of Public Health to eliminate disease risk factors, prevent diseases onset and progression, with a great interest in mental health disorders. This will include mental health promotion and preventing mental disorders through education, awareness campaigns, and lifestyle interventions. For example, promoting stress reduction techniques, healthy coping mechanisms, and positive mental well-being can help prevent some mental health issues.
Hands-on Clinical Experience at Griffin Memorial Hospital (2022-06 – 2022-07)
I had a one month long in-patient and ER posting at GMH. It was intense, I learned how to critically interview patients with diverse psychiatric and behavioral disorders, extracting important information required to accurately diagnose patients, formulate treatment plan, evaluate patient for clinical improvement, review treatment plan and write progress notes. There was daily lectures and presentations and I was given the opportunity to make 2 presentations on Major Depressive Disorder and SSRI.
Hands-on clinical experience at Mercy Hospital Endocrinology Clinic (2019-06 – 2019-07)
During my hands-on outpatient clinical experience at the endocrinology clinic, I saw all new patients, obtained medical history, conducted focused physical examination and formulated diagnostic and treatment plan. Afterwards, I presented patients to Dr. Mangrum who would give me a feedbacks.
