I’m a school counselor who genuinely believes that connection changes everything. I’m passionate about helping students navigate academics, relationships, identity, and the everyday challenges that come with growing up. I approach my work with empathy, curiosity, and a strong belief in each student’s ability to grow. Whether I’m collaborating with teachers, supporting families, or meeting one-on-one with students, I aim to create spaces where young people feel supported, capable, and understood.
I am a school counselor with a background in youth mental health, residential care, and community-based support services. I currently serve as a High School Counselor with Mesa County Valley School District 51, where I provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to a diverse student population. My work includes developing individualized education and career plans, supporting college and scholarship processes, facilitating groups, and collaborating closely with families, teachers, and administrators to advocate for student success.
Prior to my current role, I worked as a Youth Counselor in a residential setting, providing crisis response, goal planning, substance abuse prevention, life skills development, and coordinated care for youth experiencing significant mental health and behavioral challenges. My earlier experience in direct care, youth development, and childcare strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships, respond to emotional needs, and support growth across developmental stages.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bemidji State University and am currently completing my Master’s degree in Counseling at Adams State University. My graduate training emphasizes school counseling, social-emotional development, academic planning, ethical practice, and data-informed decision-making. Through coursework and field experience, I have developed skills in individual and group counseling, crisis response, advocacy, and culturally responsive practice to support diverse student populations.
