I worked as a Hospice Case manager for the company PruittHealth hospice from May of 2018 through September of 2024 coordinating and providing compassionate comfort care. Some patients were managed from a palliative standard of care, some during the transitional process, and others required acute care and/or possible stabilization. My previous ICU and ER experience has equipped me to identify declining patients as well as the ability to act fast and aggressively to ensure the patient gets the best optimum care possible, based on their wishes.
The position required management of nursing assistants as well as delegation of care to LPNs. I've maintained a BLS, ACLS and stroke certification. I have 15 years of nursing experience related to acute and non-acute health care settings.
Hospice care is my personal calling as I've always had a "soft spot" for the elderly. It's allowed me to slow down to prepare patients and families for a very precious moment of life. I'm dedicated to providing the best possible care to patients and families for advanced preparation and understanding of the stages of transition.
