My professional experience for the last 33-years has been in Design, primarily in the Civil discipline. Designing residential, commercial and industrial projects in Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Oregon and West Virginia. I have also contributed to Landscape Architectural projects in Chino Hills and Calabasas.
In addition to producing technical data, design and construction documents, my job included client relations, as well as coordination with other contributing disciplines and vendors.
I am currently employed at Hunsaker and Associates, where my duties include; Mass & precise grading, Earthwork Calculations and take offs, site design, 3D modeling, Roadway design & alignments (horiz. & vert), Roadway plan and profile, tentative map preparation, Landscape Architecture plan preparation and Graphic support.
My other interests include Art, Music, and Travel / Recreation. I’ve had the great fortune to have been able to play music with some very talented musicians and have had the opportunity to play at some very cool venues including: the Roxy / Upstairs, House of Blues Voodoo Room, Molly Malone’s, Genghis Cohen’s, Cal State Northridge, as well as a few bars in the San Francisco area. Prior to my 30-years as a designer I was employed as a paste-up / graphic artist for a small printing operation in San Fernando, where I produced Logos and letter head, and I the early 80’s I designed cable systems and managed a design and drafting department for a Communicom Cable Co., in Culver City
Site Planning / Design: Horizontal and Vertical Design and layout per standard specifications and guidelines. Hand sketched and or Cad, experience with old school methods, e.g., pencil, ink, templates, highway/railroad curves.
Grading Design: Rough grading, Precise grading, Earthwork calculations, including Geotechnical considerations for shrinkage and expansion, as well as over excavation. Hand sketched and or Cad, experience with old school methods, e.g., planimeter, average end method.
Roadway Design: Horizontal and Vertical Design and layout per standard specifications and guidelines.& alignments, Vertical Curves. Hand sketched and or Cad, experience with old school methods, e.g., pencil, ink, templates, railroad curves.
Production Supervision: Supervision and task delegation, emphasis on understanding direction, objective, expectations, accuracy and QA/QC.
DTSC/Environmental: Site Sampling review and implementation into Remediation Figure and Plan preparation and Exhibits, including graphics and remediation haul route exhibits.
