Clinical resource to advise the perioperative team in areas of specialty using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards. Facilitator and a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.
- Ensures that the appropriate equipment and supplies are available.
- Works with the team members and ancillary services to keep the area clean and inspection ready.
- Ensure that staff members are in place at designated times and prepared to work.
- Works to achieve current perioperative goals for on time starts and room turnovers.

- Coordinates with scheduling office and supply chain the need for Vendor presence for upcoming cases.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.

- Works collaboratively with the charge nurse in assigning staff when necessary.
- Provides cost-effective care by evaluating and assessing the use of soft goods, maintaining preference cards, and keeping all equipment in good working order.
- Assists staff members in evaluating practice and in creating strategies for further improvement.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other disciplines.
- Mentor team members within the specialty as required.
- Participates in interviews for staff selection.
- Meets regularly with the Managers to discuss problems or suggestions for improvements in procedures or patient through-put.
- Shares in professional leadership responsibilities related to patient care at various levels by directing and teaching other employees.
- Participates in a changing environment by being supportive and cooperative and assisting with activities in the unit.

- Work as a resource person for Burn, plastics and Head and Neck Team at the University of Chicago.
