Greetings and salutations!
I am writing you regarding your opening and I would like to throw my hat in the ring.
Background:I am a radio professional with 20+ years of experience in the radio industry. I was born and raised on the East Coast.
I am currently working as on-air host at Bigfoot Country in Central Pennsylvania. Recently, I worked for 4 years as a program director on MixFM and KSJB stations broadcasting from Jamestown, ND. Within that time, I created new shows for both stations, including a brand-new voice track show. The show included covers of famous songs of various genres and decades as well as provided information on the original or cover track.
Interesting facts:I worked as an expatriate in the European radio market. I was a part of an expatriate team launching an English-speaking radio station in Moscow, Russia working as an on-air host, doing two live shows and 2 VT shows. My job was well recognized by the management, specialists in the field, and the listeners. Competing with well-known Russian DJs and popular stations operating on the market for several years, I won awards as the Best Radio DJ in Russia in 2013 (the first and only time that award was presented to an American) and for the Best Radio Show in Russia in 2014 and 2015.
In 2015 I was invited to take the job of Program Director for the soon to be launched English speaking radio station in Helsinki, Finland where apart from continuing my on-air show hosting experience I was also responsible for setting up a team of English-speaking on-air hosts, creating show concepts and setting up show schedule adjusting it within time to achieve better balance between music, on-air personalities and listeners’ involvement.
I have organized and carried out interviews with famous local and international people of interest in various fields such as music, cinema, sports and politics, including Bradley Cooper, Taylor Kitsch, Joe Lynn Turner, Alex Clare, OK Go, Evander Holyfield,
two US Ambassadors, and many others.
Creative radio promotion campaigns and local community involvement:In all of the stations I worked with I have been actively engaged both in online (social networks and website) and offline (participation in various events) promotion. Figuring out ways to promote the station with minimum to no budget spent and gaining the recognition of the target audience and competing local stations. I drove close engagement of the local community in order to create a stronger presence of the stations within the community. For example, I created a texting portal for the ND stations to enable listeners to participate in the shows by sending messages during the shows.
I firmly believe that constant development, close engagement with the local community, continuous search for new or not standard ways of promotion and seeking the best balance between the content representation and great music is the key to creating a positive image of the station, attracting new listeners and reinforcing the loyalty among the existing audience.
I would be very excited about the opportunity to apply my experience to the job under consideration, to do the hard work in order to achieve the expected results and new higher goals and be a part of your station’s team.
Would you be interested in further communication, please contact me.
Sincerely,
June 2022 – Present
