Pijush Sutradhar

Developmental and molecular biologist with expertise in zebrafish genetics, molecular biology, fluorescence/confocal microscopy, single-cell RNA sequencing, and zebrafish husbandry. Ph.D. research used zebrafish mutants, transgenic lines, cell dissociation, and scRNA-seq approaches to study epithelial cell fate, Notch signaling, and developmental phenotypes. Postdoctoral work extends experience in embryology, gene regulation, histone antibody validation, Western blotting, TAU gel electrophoresis, CUT&RUN, and genomic techniques.

• Routinely use fluorescence microscopy to analyze early embryonic cells and nuclei for CUT&RUN experiments

• Led independent research projects focused on stem cell niche regulation and epithelial cell fate decisions during intestinal development
• Extensively used confocal microscopy to analyze zebrafish intestinal tissue
• Identified and characterized specialized epithelial niche cells that regulate stem and progenitor cell proliferation via Notch signaling
• Applied single-cell RNA sequencing to generate intestinal cell atlases and define niche-stem cell communication pathways
