As a family/services coordinator, I oversee the family program and am responsible for its administrative duties. The primary goal is to assist women with children as they transition out of the shelter and into their homes.

• Coordinator all services with case managers and Department Family Children Services (DFCS)
• Schedule and conduct family outings, activities, and parenting support groups
• Supervise child advocate and oversee services to shelter youth
• Conduct parenting classes for all mothers in the shelter

As an outreach advocate, I provide domestic violence education and safety planning to individuals who have been victims of domestic violence. During this time, I provide domestic violence assessments, attend court hearings related to temporary protective orders, and complete the documentation needed to be filed.

• Assist with domestic violence with temporary protective orders, petitions, and ex parte documents
• Provide direct assistance and/or referrals to clients in many aspects of the legal system, encompassing family law (divorce/dissolution, visitation, name change, etc.)

HOUSING ADVOCATE - LIBERTY HOUSE OF ALBANY - Albany, Georgia

While serving as a housing advocate, I provided case management services to domestic violence victims who may be experiencing homelessness. I assessed and determined which housing program the client is eligible for. I developed individualized housing stability plans, familiarized myself, and gained knowledge of the housing programs through the City of Albany, Georgia Rural Area Families Act (GRAFA), and Albany Housing Authority programs.
