I offer 20 years childcare experience. I began in 1993 working as a Sunday school assistant teacher for my church at Bethesda As well as nannying for 2 families in the late 90's. My career as a preschool teacher began in 2004 where I worked as an assistant teacher and quickly moved up as a co teacher then a lead teacher.
My own classroom ages ranged from. 12-18 months (primarily my age group) 18-24 months, 6 months experience as a three's lead teacher and a floater for all classrooms. There were short periods of time where I was a property leasing agent in between a couple of years so I also have customer service experience.
My experiences as a lead teacher are curriculum planning, curriculum implementation, supervisory of children as well as staff. Daily report of parent pick up/drop off, Daily reports logging childrens activities, potty/diaper changes, serve breakfast/lunch/snacks, prepare and monitor nap time, put away linens and dirty laundry from lunch, restock classroom as needed,sanitize toys and class during nap, complete classroom tasks.
As a teacher, I do my best to ensure every Learning experience is creative and fun through taste,touch, smell, site and sound. Children are curious and love to explore so I utilize their initiative in engaging while playing and exploring in a teaching manner. Every moment is a teachable moment!
The children we teach are a direct reflection of us as a teacher. I'm not a teacher who yells, instead I listen, engage, then when the child is calm and listen I address the issue in a loving, calm and reasonable manner that will redirect the child/children in positive behaviors. Parent/Teacher communication is always professional and honest.
If I have any concerns I bring them directly to my Superior to address accordingly.
