Rafael Field-Hernandez

My name is Rafael Field-Hernandez, I am Math Teacher with 5 years of teaching experience in both middle school and high school. I have a Master's of Teaching from SUNY Empire State University, where I graduated with a 3.84 GPA. With 3 years of experience teaching Geometry and 2 years experience teaching Algebra 1 in high-need school districts in the Bronx, as well 2 years of experience teaching Math 8 and Honors Algebra 1 a high-need school in Jamaica, Queens, I have a proven track record of improving students' academic achievement and have more than doubled the algebra 1 regents passing rate in the last two schools I worked at.

I have an expertise in modifying my lessons to meet the needs of special education and English Language Learner students. My approach incorporates a variety of teaching methodologies to address diverse learning styles and ensure comprehensive understanding. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with students, providing individualized support, and maintaining effective classroom management, all while fostering open communication with parents to support student success and engagement.
