CNC Machinist - C&S Machine Products, Inc. - Niles, MI
(2024-10 - 2026-01)
Tier 1 supplier to Boeing, Airbus, GE Aerospace, Parker Hannifin, and Moog Aerospace
- Set up and operate mixed-machine cells (vertical mills, multi-turret lathes, grinders, lapping machines, and complex inspection equipment) producing flight-critical hydraulic pump components for Parker Hannifin and Moog Aerospace — including parts used exclusively on Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, Lockheed Martin F-35A Joint Strike Fighter, and U.S. Coast Guard helicopter platforms.
- Run a grinding cell producing GE Aerospace jet engine spool valves to grinding tolerances of ± 40 millionths of an inch.
- Operate NAKAMURA multi-spindle, multi-turret lathes (heavy-duty Japanese platforms) consistently holding part tolerances of ± 0.0001".
- Own complete setups end-to-end — first article through inspection sign-off — including weekend setups so production teams can run uninterrupted from Monday morning.
- Cover medical machining work on Saturdays as needed, including machining and grinding acetabulum (hip joint) ball joints across various sizes.
- Perform first-article and in-process inspection on ZEISS CMM, TRIMOS Swiss height gage, KEYENCE, STARRETT optical, profilometer, and interferometer; document results in NETinspect.
- Maintain ITAR compliance through recurring computer-based testing and acknowledgment as new defense regulations are issued.
- Complete in-house process training for new part numbers as they are introduced to the shop floor.
- Consistently work 135–150 production hours per two-week period, including Saturday setups and Sunday support.
Owner / Operator - G Paul LLC - Stevensville, MI
(2019-12 - 2023-03)
Independent precision machining shop
- Co-owned and operated an independent CNC machining business with a Michigan-based partner; equipped the shop with two new vertical mills, a laser, air compressor, and supporting infrastructure.
- Managed all aspects of the business — client work, machine setup and operation, inspection, and quality.
- Operations were interrupted in March 2020 when international travel for prior family-business commitments coincided with global COVID-19 flight restrictions; unable to return to the U.S. for approximately three years due to non-permanent-resident status at the time. Wound down and sold off the business upon return.
