I am a middle school science teacher, instructional designer, and educational consultant with over 20 years of experience in public education. I specialize in PBE, program coordination, and teacher training, helping educators and organizations create hands-on, place-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, environmental stewardship, and problem-solving.

As the founder of Heckman Educational Consulting, I bridge the gap between education and professional development. My mission is to empower individuals and organizations through tailored solutions in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and experiential learning—fostering growth, connection, and engagement.

I’ve presented at conferences such as the Michigan Science Teachers Association and Place-Based Education conferences and authored "Learning in Context: A Guide to Embracing Place-Based Education as an Educator".
