Operating Department- Clinical Nurse Manager (Perioperative Team Manager) at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, UC Health (2025-03 – Present)

Overseeing the daily operations of the operating department, especially service lines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Also managed the HOPD where services spans from Gynecology, Neuro, Orthopedics and Sports medicine, Ophthalmic and General surgery (April 2025-April 2026). Interim manager for Orthopedic/Spine and Podiatry (December 2025 to present). Additionally, serves as one of the High Reliability Organization Trainers for the organization.

• Supervising staff scheduling and staff assignments, managing workflow and surgical case flow, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.

Operating Department- Registered Nurse, CNOR at West Chester Hospital, UC Health (2022-01 – 2025-03)

• RN circulator - circulating surgical procedures, verifying consents, history, physical, and labs prior to surgery, positioning, prepping the surgical site and epic documentation of procedure events, precepts new RNs. Patient advocacy.

OR and Endoscopy RN at Nyaho Medical Center

• Scrub and circulate, set up Operating Room, conduct patient assessment prior to surgery, prep surgical site, assist with draping and surgical procedure and documentation.
• Prepares patient and assist in endoscopy procedures. Processing of endoscopes.

Surgical Department - Registered Nurse at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (2008-05 – 2021-11)

The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital is the premier healthcare facility in Ghana. The government owned facility has 2000 beds, the largest hospital in West Africa, third largest in Africa, and the only tertiary hospital in the Greater Accra region. The institution is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Ghana medical school. The facility offers 3 centers of excellence: The National Cardiothoracic Center, The National Plastic and Reconstructive Center, and The Radiotherapy Center. The hospital has 17 clinical and diagnostic departments with an average daily attendance of 1,500 patients and about 250 admissions per day. Each department affiliated with surgery has their own operating rooms within the department building.

The Surgical

Department has 15 operating rooms, 4 endoscopy rooms, 20 bed PACU, and a 5 extended recovery/HDU bed. The department caters to specialties such as pediatric surgery, general surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, colorectal, endoscopy, vascular, oral and maxillofacial, neurosurgery and urology. The department can see up to 100 patients per day, and the nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1.

• OR RN - Scrub and circulate, set up Operating Room, conduct patient assessment prior to surgery, prep surgical site, assist with draping and surgical procedure, documentation.
• Educator - Education on operating room principles, scrubbing, gowning, glowing and instrumentation for new nurses and perioperative nursing students, education on new equipment use. Onboarding of new staff, Professional development and in-service for staff.
• Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator - Represents department in IPC meetings, trains staff on IPC protocols.
• Charge Nurse duties - Staff management (monthly scheduling for staff and daily OR allocation), ensured smooth running of operating room and daily staff support.
• Lead Nurse, Hepatobiliary and MIS team – Team management, patient safety advocate coordinate for needed equipment and supplies for procedures.
