Medical Coder

My name is Rena Kravig, and I graduated last year from the Certified Coding Specialist program at Loma Linda University. I took my CCS exam for the first time in April 2023, and passed. I was the first in my class to take the exam.
I worked as a Coder I at Eisenhower Health since November 2023. With limited experience at first, I was assigned to code the Breast Imaging queue; however, due to finishing the queue rather quickly (with few errors,) I was also assigned to the Urgent Care queue. I was told that I caught on fast to everything, including the different rules regarding different insurances, including Medicare.
The reason why I am looking for another job, is because I lived 68 miles away from work, and can no longer make the drive. I can provide my recent evaluation from Eisenhower Health upon request.
In closing, I would like to say a few things about my strengths that will make me a great coder for you. I want to say that I am insanely fast at data entry. I was told that I really need to emphasize to you how incredibly fast I am at navigating through the computer software.
I catch on quickly to new tasks and new software. Also, my knowledge of diseases, including chronic diseases, is vast due to the fact that I have been working in the medical field for over 25 years. I became familiar with all types of diseases, including their symptoms, before I even began taking college courses studying them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and God bless!
Rena Kravig, CCS, CMT
I have 16 months coding experience. (10 months, not including Practicode.)
I'm in the process of completing 400 live cases for Practicode by AAPC, which is equivalent to one year of on-the-job training coding experience. I'm applying ICD-10-CM codes. I'm halfway done, so this is equivalent to 6 months experience.
I worked for 7 months at Eisenhower Health - Clinic Billing Department, coding Urgent Care, Primary Care, and Breast Imaging encounters. I utilized ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M codes. I coded different insurance payors, including Medicare.
I was an intern for 3 months at Loma Linda University Medical Center HIM Department, coding Inpatient and ED visits. I utilized ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes. This was offered as part of my schooling, and Kathy Young emailed me my work.
