During my time at this luxurious spa, I worked closely with the managers to maintain a professional and functional environment for the clientele visiting the restaurant, as well as fellow employees. A high standard of customer service was insured while maintaining a smooth work flow. Guest and team inquiries were handled promptly with empathy, and health regulations kept in check.

Tasks entailed opening and closing the pub, working full week days alone and with colleagues at weekends. We served alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, helping the kitchen staff with their independent food business. On Sundays, I helped serve exquisite roast dinners with professional food service, along with running the bar.

This was my first hospitality job.

• As a Barista/Waitress I was responsible for taking orders, operating the coffee machine, making all hot and cold beverages, clearing tables and meeting customers' needs
• As a kitchen assistant I assisted the cook or took the main role of cook, producing lunch meals such as sandwiches, soups, quiche etc.
• At the end of the day, I closed down the cafe. Tasks included cleaning, cashing up the till, making sure all stock was up to date and necessary food delivery had been ordered
• I was also in charge of the artwork for the cafe, creating advertising posters, decorating the main menu and updating the blackboard specials every morning
