I am published author or various books and academic articles. I have a PhD in the Learning Science.

I began my career in education as a Teach For America teacher. I became school principal at age 26 of a school I designed with other teachers and later went on to design another two dozen schools, including the internationally acclaimed game-based school, Quest to Learn (q2L.org). I hold a PhD in the Learning Sciences. focused on games and learning.
