• Oversaw warehouse and transportation operations for a food distribution facility. This included coaching and developing two Managers, overseeing 8 supervisors across Southern California, responsible for a total of 150 associates.
• Facilitated the opening of two remote yards. This included recruiting, providing onboarding, assuring the appropriate equipment was in place and timeliness in loads being completed.
• Monitored staffing levels through strategic talent acquisition and termination processes, approving temporary staffing to address coverage gaps and business surges. This included the growth of the distribution center when an additional 30% of business was added in a matter of months.
• Performed Full Cycle Recruiting for Warehouse Associates.
• Collaborated with HR to negotiate new vendor contracts, securing optimal financial and business terms for warehouse operations.
• Once a termination request was presented by Managers, reviewed all appropriate documentation to include previous corrective actions and remedial training had been addressed. When all paperwork was in order, send it to the Director of Human Resources for final check. Represented the company at all Unemployment hearings in Southern California.
• Facilitated the onboarding process for all new hires. Collaborated with the HR Manager in Fresno, Ca to ensure orientation was processed and completed no later than 72hrs after starting with the company.
• Ensure timeliness of associates completing drug tests for new hire, post accident, random and DOT guidelines.
• Guided associates who had been injured through the workers compensation paperwork and followed up with Managers for accident investigations.
• Monitored and documented training process and sought feedback from floor/driving associates to further maximize training efficiency.
• Tracked timecards for attendance as well as meal time compliance. Aligned with the Transportation Manager focusing on Hours of Service compliance.
• Monitor Freezer Pay/Incentives on a daily basis to verify appropriate bonuses are added to payroll.
• Instituted new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with regard to operational safety addressing identified gaps and enforced existing SOPs to optimize productivity.
• Aligned with Warehouse Trainer and Supervisor to create further efficiencies with a fluid pick path.
• Evaluated existing incentive programs for accuracy and proposed enhancements to the VP of Operations.
• Conducted regular safety reviews of operations, analyzing Warehouse Management System (WMS) metrics for accuracy and safety compliance during system changes. Chaired annual Driver meetings and oversaw formal monthly warehouse safety meetings. Implemented daily huddles for safety and associate engagement. Performed daily walkthroughs of the transportation yard and warehouse to ensure safety and foster employee engagement, actively soliciting feedback from all associates.

• Reviewed cameras with any incidents that arose/ accidents occurred.
• Responsible for associate uniforms/safety gear. When items were needed procured additional supplies keeping within the allotted budget.
