I am a nursing student at MSU Denver. My expected graduation date is May 2027.
Emergency Medical Technician-Critical Care at Chenango Ambulance 2012-2015
Worked as an EMT-Basic until earning my AEMT-CC certification in Spring of 2014 when I began practicing as a CC-EMT until I graduated college. Served a diverse population in both rural and city settings.
Emergency Medical Technician-Basic at Jewish Community Center Camp Sisol 2013
Ran the medical office at a summer camp for children aged 5-14. Treated campers’ day to day illnesses and injuries. Managed and administered campers’ prescription medications as required.
Catering Chef and Food Safety Manager at Pirate Chef 2023 — Now
Cook a wide array of cuisines including Italian, British, French and Indian. Work with customers to design a bespoke menu for their special event. Oversee sanitation and safety in the kitchen and remote catering events. Manage remote catering events from setup to food service and teardown.
Founder and Community Outreach Coordinator at A Little Warmth 2023 — Now A Little Warmth is a non-profit passion project founded by myself and my wife. Our mission is to provide nourishing meals to our neighbors in Aurora, CO. We accomplish this through regular community meals held in locations nearest to at risk individuals.
All food is free for anyone. We also distribute shelf stable meals for people to bring home or distribute to anyone else who might need them. The non-profit is funded mostly out of pocket, but we also sell cottage food goods at farmer’s markets to raise funds.
Quality Assurance Automation Engineer at Indeed 2021 - 2023
Worked as a cross discipline automation engineer to support multiple dev teams in creating thorough automation to be run in a push-on-green Jenkins or Gitlab pipeline. Built up a Selenium/Appium wrapper library to abstract away the platform specific configuration usually needed when testing across different platforms. One test written with the framework will work run seamlessly on a local or remote machine, on any of our supported browsers, and on mobile or desktop.
Built up a central test support service that handles all communication and configuration with the many backend services using a mixture of protocols. Test suites need only connect to this single service, make simple REST calls, and the service handles the rest. Designed and implemented a custom load testing tool to simulate realistic requests based on a continuously updating sample of prod traffic to accurately assess performance of data access services.
We were able to demonstrate the capacity for our infrastructure to scale up to 10x its current load.
Lead Test Automation Engineer at Charter 2019 – 2021
Led the automation team for Charter’s consumer data tracking Elasticsearch database and the associated front end program to enable Charter to easily build subscriber datasets based on subscriber attributes. Our test automation was initially built in a TestNG framework. We are now transitioning to Behavior Driven Design with Cucumber since I made the case that it will be a better fit for our development cycle.
As our automation matures and requires less and less maintenance and updating, I have branched out into providing automated test integration with our Jenkins and Gitlab builds, team-wide training sessions, high and low level design recommendations for new features, security improvements, devops automation and system wide review of code and functionality to identify areas where quality can be improved.
Test Automation Engineer at Raytheon August 2018 – December 2018
Provided surge support for the test automation effort in preparation for an upcoming customer acceptance test. Built the test harnesses that the program’s test engineers will use to create the automated tests for requirement sell off. The harnesses are written in a mixture of Python and Java and make use of
Springboot microservices and RESTful APIs for backend orchestration. We provided an interface to the harnesses through Cucumber Gherkin step definitions. Also responsible for rewriting the coding standards for all test automation code in order to provide a more enforceable and sensible guideline.
Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin RMS 2015 — 2018
Led efforts on an entire rewrite of our cross domain solution as we move to SE Linux. This includes writing extensive security policy files for the SELinux Security Engine. Additionally, led a team of new developers and interns to upgrade our test automation with Eggplant as well as personally building a full build framework that integrates with JUnit and GTest in order to bring automatic testing into every build.
I was one of two mandatory reviewers on the team with the responsibility to review nearly every code change that enters our system in order to preempt security vulnerabilities before they enter our code base as well as screening for code hygiene and inefficient solutions. I engaged with customers to design solutions for their unique needs and incorporate their feedback to improve our existing systems.
I mentored our new engineers and interns to familiarize them with our product and find projects that will challenge and interest them. Additionally, I ran knowledge sharing sessions on new technologies to improve team coordination and developmental abilities.
Software Engineering Intern at Lockheed Martin MST 2014 — 2015
Worked as a mostly self managing software engineering intern for a major Navy contract. I was tasked with identifying areas of software development where workflow could be improved through tools or process changes. I identified two major areas that could be streamlined. I designed and implemented graphical applications in Java to assist with those tasks and save hundreds of developer hours per week.
