Hello, I am a Graduate from UTRGV with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication (Broadcast). I have experience as a news reporter, News Director, and a Station Manager at the local college Radio Station (Vaquero Radio). I also have experience in audio and video editing.
I worked at the UTRGV Radio Station, Vaquero Radio, for 3 years. I started as a News Reporter for the first year, News Director for the 2nd year, and Station Manager for the last year. As a reporter, I was responsible for coming up with stories every week. I would find at least 3 sources for each story, contact them, and write at least 1 story per week. I would also produce and edit my audio packages for my story.
Director, I not only wrote my own stories, but I was also responsible for managing the other Reporters, edit their stories, and also produce a newscast weekly. When I became Station Manager, I still had the previous responsibilities with the addition of overseeing other daily tasks and DJ's daily. I was also involved in planning different events and collaborations.
I graduated in May of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a focus in Broadcast and a minor in english at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I have learned journalistic writing, creative writing, audio and video editing in adobe products, broadcast script writing, and basics in Photoshop.
