Expand and lead a large global SRE team supporting Akamai’s new Cloud Compute Provider business.
Akamai's SRE practice by integrating cloud industry SRE best practices. Participate in executing Akamai Cloud Compute product strategy by partnering with other engineering, product, customer services and security leaders across the organization. Identify and drive opportunities to improve scale, reliability and performance for Akamai Cloud Compute solutions. Including building a global 24/7 on-call RE-Act SRE team to support the Akamai Cloud Compute business and to offload other SRE function teams such as Capacity planning, DevOps and Performance to help them focus on product roadmaps and goals. Define and provide full SRE services to Akamai Cloud Storage product line (Block Store, Object Store, NetStorage and Backups), Akamai Cloud Networking Services (VM/Firewall/VLAN, VPC/Node Balancer, Domains/CDN, etc.), Akamai Cloud Native product line (LKE, Orchestration, Serverless, Container Service, Registry, etc.), and Akamai Cloud Compute Customer Experience (Cloud Manager, API/BAPI, Billing, XAPI, etc.).

I was responsible for reliability, performance, capacity and operation of the products and systems of the Akamai Intelligent Edge, including Origin Services, Data Experience, the Mapping system and Security BU. Built and managed a global team of 55+ DevOps, Reliability and Performance engineers that define, implement, oversee, and troubleshoot any reliability, performance and capacity planning aspects of on-prem/hybrid/cloud-based products such as Akamai NetStorage, Media Services Live, Image and Video Manager, Cloud Wrapper, API- GW, Edge KV, Edge Connect IoT, WAF, Bot Manager, Page Integrity, and more.
