Ruth Hamner

Self-motivated with life's experiences. I have had innumerable jobs in the past sixty years and have stored vast knowledge in the business environment. My passion is repurposing and hand painting furniture. This is a passion, not a career. Human resource development is primary as my objective in the future. Helping people discover and pursue their talents and skills is my purpose – even on a daily social occurrence. Every day is a new adventure!

Primarily my positions have been in Executive Secretarial roles. When I pursued my Master's Degree in Business Management in 1991 I had hope to have a future in college teaching. Now I am in a position to fulfill that dream, but have been unable to get through the electronic walls.

Having completed a course at the Indianapolis Entrepreneurship Academy 30 years ago, I used my training to establish an organization for small and home based business people. I had hoped to continue in that path until my husband got transferred to Durham, NC. Entrepreneurship in that community did not focus on the small business person--only mega corporations.

That is when I turned to painting which was an untapped resource for me. Since I did not need to work, I developed my own style of art and it grew into a business of its own.
