Ryan Hicks

With 20 years in live entertainment—including 15 years as a lead sound engineer—I bring deep technical expertise in front-of-house mixing, system design and optimization, RF and wireless systems, and the operational leadership required to deliver consistent, high-quality results on complex productions. My experience spans concerts, touring events, corporate programs, runway shows, galas, award ceremonies, and large-scale venue productions, including significant work with Live Nation and House of Blues. I am proficient across major console platforms, Dante networking (Level 3), system design and optimization, RF coordination, stage and backline support, and rapid troubleshooting under show conditions.

I have led technical teams, coordinated with production management, and taken ownership of audio quality from load-in through final strike. Beyond pure technical execution, I understand the broader production environment. I have worked closely with production managers, venue operations, and client stakeholders, and I know how to communicate clearly, protect the schedule, and keep the show moving when issues arise.

This dual perspective—strong A1 skills combined with production awareness—allows me to contribute effectively both at the console and as a collaborative member of the larger production team. Live audio remains a genuine passion after two decades in the industry.
