Hi! My name is Ryan Johnson, I was born and have lived my whole life in Rumson, NJ. I am currently interested in intern/mentorship opportunities in social work or counseling/therapy. In my experience as a student, I have grown to have a true appreciation for the field of social work and would consider myself uniquely qualified for the challenges that responsibility may carry.
In my personal life, I have always gravitated towards being a helpful person. In a way I feel most useful when others can benefit from my proactivity. I also believe that my kindness and ability to avoid strife and personal conflict has been incredibly valuable both in the work setting and in my personal experiences.
Since I was little I have always put massive importance on practicing empathy in all settings, this no doubt has shaped my thinking as a person, and has ultimately motivated me to want to work in the field of psychology. I work well in group settings and I would consider myself a great communicator especially when my mind is on task and I am focused on a goal. My experience working at the Rumson Pharmacy, has given me the opportunity to build my social skills (communicating with people from different backgrounds) and has also given me the chance to improve as a cooperative worker while being considerate of those around me and those I am working with.
I also believe the responsibility of handling and selling medication has prepared me to be a true professional no matter what setting. Further, I am currently enrolled in the two year Social Sciences Program, Psychology Option at Brookdale Community College, having completed my first year this May (2026). I thoroughly enjoy learning about the field of psychology, but I am even more enthusiastic to start working hands on in the field as I know thats where I will truly find an idea as to what I would like for my future career and employment opportunities. :)
