Summer Intern - Dries Lab at Boston University - Boston, MA
(2026-05)
- Implementing 3 machine learning models including vision transformers and recurrent neural networks for image feature extraction of clinically H&E stained tissue samples
- Benchmarking, evaluating, and retraining select methods for integration into in-house spatial transcriptomic analysis workflows using lab curated R package, Giotto
Research Student - Fuxman Bass Systems Lab at Boston University - Boston, MA
(2025-08 - 2026-01)
- Predicted regulatory activity of 200 bp Hepatitis B virus genomic segments using a novel machine learning model trained on MPRA data from three mammalian cell lines to identify potential cis-regulatory elements
- Developed a Nextflow pipeline to analyze viral motif activity across 14 viruses and 8 stress conditions by parsing and filtering CSV inputs, performing FIMO motif scanning, and applying Fisher's Exact Test to identify significantly regulated motifs specific to each treatment
Lab Intern - HiFiBiO Therapeutics - Cambridge, MA
(2025-05 - 2025-08)
- Supported single-cell bead production workflows using microfluidics technology, optimizing PCR for amplification of antibody variable region sequences and for collecting all mRNA
- Adapted and modified R script scRNA-seq analysis pipelines to generate biologically relevant visualizations
Molecular Immunology Co-op - BioNTech US - Cambridge, MA
(2024-07 - 2024-12)
- Completed linearization workflow to isolate general plasmid backbone from an agarose gel, then used for plasmid DNA assembly with genes of interest
- Cloned plasmids into separate competent E. coli tubes for outgrowth and selection on antibiotic-infused agar plates, and created 4-6 liquid cultures of each cloned plasmid with single colonies
- Extracted plasmids from small-scale liquid E. coli cultures and prepped for outsourced Sanger Sequencing, then analyzed the results
- Generated large-scale plasmid product when needed, otherwise outsourced, and performed cell-free in-vitro transcription with plasmids to produce RNA in a timely manner
Oligonucleotide Synthesis Co-op - Korro Bio - Cambridge, MA
(2023-01 - 2023-06)
- Accelerated small-scale oligonucleotide syntheses on a MerMade12 Synthesizer by preparing reagents and initiating post-synthesis cleaving & deprotecting of 6-10 sequences
- Prepared sequence samples for LTQ analysis and QC samples of new phosphoramidites for in-house MS or outsourced
- Maintained organization of lab space by regularly cleaning bottles and supplies as well as updating an inventory sheet on Excel
- Consolidated relevant research papers dominantly through SciFinder and commercially available compounds of interest in Microsoft applications
